Derwent Healthcare 2.0

Website Redesign

A regular website maintenance / update client, Derwent Healthcare asked us to handle their website redesign.

Their old site had a rigid layout and static pages, all hosted on a creaky Windows server.

We moved their domain over to our preferred UK-based Linux web host and used MODx CMS to add ease of updates and automation of content (promoting new products, sorting news articles, etc.).

The design aims to avoid stuffy, rigid clinical layouts so often associated with medical industry suppliers.

The menu system has been updated to a pure-CSS multi-level solution that works on all modern browsers.  A jQuery plug-in has been used to smooth menu transitions but users who have JS disabled still get a fully functional menu.

We've employed jQuery elsewhere to power slideshows.  

Clean code has reaped rewards in terms of SEO, with Derwent Healthcare ranking extremely highly for their InBody product line (in most cases, they're ranked higher than the manufacturer).
